Please note that by visiting Scary Acres, you voluntarily
assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19

Like most of us in the local community and around the world, we have been following the news closely since the beginning of the COVID-19 virus. We have sought out the recommendations and advice of other local and national Attractions in our industry and similar industries, to learn about what safety measures they have been and will be adopting this Fall. We have been in constant communication with our local Health Department in order to receive education, understanding and ultimately specific adjustments to be implemented within our operations.

The safety of our guests and staff is of the upmost importance to us. Our hope, as we are committed to providing a safe and fun family event for the community, is that you are able to enjoy once again your annual trip to Scary Acres this season, with your family and friends. While your visit may look different than it has historically, we intend to entertain you and will strive as always to exceed your expectations.

At Scary Acres we have over 17 acres within our Park which allows our guests to spread out, enjoy the outdoors, wear a mask when appropriate, be courteous of others, have fun and be safe!

Here are some ways we are currently trying to Minimize the COVID-19 Risks at Scary Acres:

Masks

In accordance with CDC guidance, we strongly recommend all guest to wear masks when it is difficult to maintain a physical 6-foot distance, especially when entering the indoor Attractions within the Park.

We have based these recommendations on our continual contact with the local health department, in accordance with our approved operational plan, and as we look to enter into Phase 4 on September 14th.

Scary Acres will provide a medical mask free of charge to any guest that requests one at any one of our ticket booths, merchandise booth and the front entrance of each Attraction.

As you enter the Park to purchase your ticket/s, each of our ticket booth attendants will be stationed behind plexi-glass window shields, as will the attendants behind our merchandise booth, concession booth and funnel cake booth. Our ticket takers at each of the three Attractions will be wearing either a face mask, a facial shield or both, at all times. All actors throughout the Park will maintain a physical 6-foot distance whenever possible. If there is any actor on property that is not able to reasonably maintain a physical 6-foot distance, they will be either in a mask or a facial covering, both appearing to be a part of their costume.

Team Member Screening

Each staff member will have their temperature taken upon arrival and will be asked specific screening questions pertaining to symptoms and known exposure.

Cleaning and Sanitation

We have added cleaning and sanitation schedules throughout the Park at any “touch points”. Outside of restroom handles and countertops, we have very few touch points throughout the Park. Guests are always instructed not to touch our props and sets.

Hand Sanitizer

Dispensers will be located at each ticket booth, the merchandise booth, concession booth, funnel cake booth, at the entrance of all three Attractions and in every restroom throughout the Park. There will also be hand washing stations located in front of the restrooms.

Group Limits

We will be limiting the number of people allowed inside the Attractions as a group. Typically we send between 6 and 8 people into an Attractions as a group. When at all possible, we will be sending in smaller groups, averaging between 4 and 6 at a time. We will also be allowing a longer space in between groups entering the Attractions, in order for groups to not run into each other.

Capacity

We will be limiting the number of guests at Scary Acres to comply with local government guidelines at any given time. We anticipate this will only affect guests on our peak evenings. Please arrive early when possible and spread out your visit to Scary Acres on an evening that is traditionally slower, if you are able. Typically our busiest nights are Fridays and Saturdays, mid-October. Sunday through Thursday are historically slower evenings.

Social Distacing

There will be signage throughout the Park as well as in que lines to the Attractions, promoting social distancing. Please be courteous of those around you. Maintain a 6-foot distance between your group and other groups. We have adjusted both the number of benches around the bonfires as well as some of the tables surrounding the concession area in order to promote and encourage distance between groups. The Coffin Ride will not be open this season
